Category:
What is Acl IgA?
Cardiolipins are found in the cell membranes of our body and cardiolipin antibodies target them by mistake. These antibodies regulate the clotting of blood in the body. Anti Cardiolipin IgA Antibody test detects the existence of cardiolipin antibodies in the blood. It is mostly found in patients with autoimmune disorders. A blood sample is taken from a vein in the arm, using a needle.

A positive result means that cardiolipin antibodies were detected in the blood. Their presence may indicate Syphilis, Antiphospholipid syndrome (APS), Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). The test is also helpful in analyzing the cause of repeated miscarriages and unexplained clotting of blood.
